When I was in kindergarten....
Worries consisted of what toys to play with, who would tie my shoes, and who I wanted to play with at recess.
I didn't worry about what bills needed paid when. How many hours of endless homework I had to do. When my hubby was going to be home.
And according to Brad:
When naptime was, when recess was, and which puzzle pieces went where.
He didn't worry about when he had to be where, who he had to visit on the road to sell semen, or when he'd make it home next.
In kindergarten you never worried about if your clothes matched. Purple and red were the best combination.... EVER!
In kindergarten there was no drama over boyfriends and girlfriends, instead it was over toys and crayons.
In kindergarten I became a big sister to one of the most annoying, but cutest sisters ever. Today I lover her very much.
I also didn't scream and fight and treat my parents like crud.
What happened to kindergarten days? When worries and arguments were nothing necessary. When life was easy. When drama wasnt really worth the time.
Today so many people, grown ups in particular, worry about material things, personal appearance, and stupid stuff. When kids treated their parents with respect, and they looked up to their elders.
It's amazing to see the difference a few years can make when it comes to stuff like this.
How has the world changed since you were in kindergarten? See any similarities from those listed above?

Day 22: 5 years from now...
“When it comes to the future, there are three kinds of people: those who let it happen, those who make it happen, and those who wonder what happened.”.
When I asked my husband what he thinks our life would be like in five years... he chuckled. Thats about the only response I was able to get out of him.
...
I wish there was a way to see the future. To see where the two of us will be down the road. It would be so much easier to get through today, knowing that tomorrow is going to be a great day. I would need so little motivation to pursue this bachelors degree, knowing that some day I will have a job I love. I wish there was a way to see when Brad and I will be having our first child, when something devastating is about to happen, and having the ability to be prepared. Then again, where's the excitement in that?
I know that I will have a good job, some day, but that job that I love won't come until I get through school. I know that Brad and I will some day have a kid, or two. Maybe even three. Depending on what is in store for us and our future. We don't write our futures, we just follow the path that God lays out for us.
How about this... My vision of Brad and I five years down the road:
I see Brad and I sitting on the front porch of our acreage home, enjoying a nice cold drink, while a little boy plays in the dirt off to the side of the house. The dogs are running around free, in the open front yard. The Calves are bellaring for their mothers. The fresh scent of turned over dirt, rain, cut grass. Everything I love about the summer and country. ...Then again... this is just a vision. A Dream. I can wish all I want for this to come happen, but.... “When it comes to the future, there are three kinds of people: those who let it happen, those who make it happen, and those who wonder what happened.”... Brad and I just have to be those type of people that make it happen. :) Dreams can come to be reality.
Five years from now I know one thing, I will love Brad even more than I do today. He keeps finding ways to make me fall in love, all over again.
What do you have in store for your future? Are you going to make your Dreams come true? Or are you just going to let what happens, happen? Are you going to pursue the future? or are you going to just let it float by?

Day 21: When I was a kid...
:)
When I saw todays topic... my face immediately brightened. Brad and I were just talking the other day about how the world has changed so much since we were kids.
Brad and I were listening to a song on the radio the other night on our way home from date night, and the song had "Speak and Spell" as part of the song... I don't know how many of you remember the speak and spell toy, but we sure did. We laughed so hard when we talked about stories we had about this toy.I remember my grandma having this toy, and I would sit down with it for hours on end spelling out words and playing with it. When I learned how to read and write I would talk, using the speak and spell. :)
Another thing that I ran across a while back was the Light Bright. Oh man. Tiffany and I were talking about this when she came down for her birthday weekend. I remember all KINDS of paper being wasted thanks to me! :) I'm pretty sure I ingested a few of those colored pegs, as well as loosing a few around the house. My parents would always get mad at me because they'd step on them and the pegs would hurt their feet. =/ sorry!
Another thing that I was just thinking about the other day, from good ole' childhood memories was FURBY!!!! Cassie and I BOTH had furby's. Mom had gotten them from Pamida when she worked there. I remember always having to "feed" Cassie's because she was too young to really understand the point of the toys. I even remember crying when the batteries in mine died, and I thought my Furby had died... Cassie had a Grey and White spotted one, mine was all Black with a white belly and white hair, like the one in the picture here!
One of the things that I ran across on Google while searching for photos of all these awesome childhood toys were the McDonald's Toys. When I was a kid I collected these. I had BOXES and BOXES of toys, still in their wrappers. My daddy always told me that I'd some day be rich from saving all those toys because they'd be antique... I wish I would have known back then it would also take 75 years before they were considered "antiques". =/ thanks dad for the false hopes!
What do you remember from your childhood? I bet some of the toys you can remember will bring back many fun memories! When your all grown up, its wierd how it seems like "just yesterday" that you were playing with these toys, and today, you couldn't even tell where they ended up at.

Day 20: Best Memory
Some say... oh boy... there's so many to choose from!
I say: this is an easy one.
My best day blows every other day of my life out of the water... so far. Eventually when we have kids, I hope these will be very special days also... but as of right now, our wedding day is my best memory.
My Favorite Photo
Our First Dance:
For now, June 22, 2010 will be my favorite memory. The day I got to marry my best friend. <3

Day 19: Mary, Mary, quite contrary, how does your garden grow?
Garden? Ha. Yeah right. I will never grow my own garden. I have never been a plant person... they seem to wither at my touch. I used to help my grandma's with both of their gardens, and my mom had one once in a while... but I suck at gardening. I was thinking about planting a flower pot for on the front porch here... but decided I better not even try. I'd mess it up some how. i suck at mowing the lawn because i always end up wrecking the lawn mower some how. I hate trimming trees. I tried (un-successfully) to trim our lillies last fall for the winter and ended up killing them. :/ my bad.
Needless to say. My gardening skills are about as awesome as my cooking skills. Guess their the types of things I just have to learn more about and practice! :)

Day 18: If I should die before I wake
If I should die before I wake, I pray the Lord my soul to take...
Simplicity is amazing. This may be one of the simplest prayers that kids and adults know, but have you ever google'd this prayer? Wikipedia comes up with 25 different wordings for this prayer. It was started in the 18th century as a children's prayer... thats 200 years ago! Its incredible to think that parents are still teaching their children this same prayer today. As you become an adult you notice that your prayers become more in depth, more personal, more emotional. This is just one of those building blocks that we base our life upon- prayer.

According to Merriam/Webster, Prayer is (1) : an address (as a petition) to God or a god in word or thought prayer for the success of the voyage> (2) :a set order of words used in praying.
What is one of your favorite prayers?... Is it routine? or is it Created from day to day?

Day 17: Classes
Lately I've been feeling a little run down. Classes are catching up to me, but, thank goodness Spring Break is next week! 3 1/2 more days of classes and then it's hello relaxation station. (besides the fact that I work EVERY DAY OVER SPRING BREAK @ 530 AM!) I can't wait for a week away from homework. All I do these days is go to class, do homework, study, work, eat, and sleep. I never have time to lay down, take a 3 hour nap, slip in a movie and relax.
This semester isn't too tough, compared to last semester.... I am in Biology 212 and Lab, Chemistry 177, Food Science & Human Nutrition 101, and Animal Science 216(Equine Science).
Biology 212 and Lab are going well. I pulled off a B on my mid term, so I was very glad about that. I have a 350 page book I have to read within the next 3 weeks for a book report due the beginning of April... ~really not looking forward to that! Lab has been fun so far. We've only done stuff with plants, so I'm excited to start the Animal sections next week.
Chemistry is kicking my butt... I'm not a math person. I'll never be a math person. Never have been a math person. end of story. Chemistry is a lot like physics was last semester. The majority of the Homework is thanks to this class, along with the majority of the troubles and frustrations. The instructor is a first time instructor for general chemistry; she's an organic chemist so she really likes the details. The TA's for the class don't know whats going on because she doesn't keep them informed, the tests are hard, and it's my "downer class"... It keeps me down.
FSHN 101 is a freshman class I'm taking for the extra 2 credits so that I'm considered full time. Its easy peasy. Most of it is review from An Sci 270 (meats) from last semester. Some of it intermingles with my bio class with the proteins and dna and stuff. Its pretty cool learning about foods and how they are processed and what they are consisted of.
Animal Science 216 is the introductory Equine class here. I am taking this as a 200 An Sci elective. So far I really enjoy it. We get to work with horses every lab, which is really interesting. Yesterday we collected semen from a Stud (stallion) and processed it for shipping and insemination. We've learned a lot about the species and their history. This is definitely my favorite class this semester.
Overall, classes are going well. My GPA is gradually increasing from last semesters drastic drop. I have made many more friends on campus, which is a plus because I see them in my classes and have friends to go to lunch with and stuff. I'm no longer a "loner" like I was last semester. I have transitioned well to this campus and I'm glad that there is only 1 more transition left in my college career.
